Our clients on Campbell Live!
Posted on: December 9, 2014
When our wonderful clients Parry Field Lawyers had a great idea for opening their new building and asked us to help, we jumped at the chance.
After the February 2011 earthquake, Parry Field Lawyers staff were trapped on Level 17 of the Forsyth Barr building in the Christchurch CBD. They were rescued by Jason Bourke and Jason Campbell from Smith Cranes, who arrived with a crane and a ‘man-cage’ to winch them down to safety.
After 4 years in temporary offices, Parry Field Lawyers were finally opening their brand new building in Riccarton and what better way to commemorate the occasion than ask Jason and Jason to open it. Even better, could we lift those who were rescued back into the building, or at least the first floor balcony, using the same mancage? Thanks to the efforts of the Smith Cranes team, event planning and logistics from BECK & CAUL, this extraordinary event came together.
We handled media liaison, gaining live coverage on national television for our clients and their rescuers from Smith Cranes. We also ran the event, organised the commemorative plaque which was unveiled on the night, set up the venue and helped ensure the ceremonial crane lifting went off without a hitch. The event was broadcast live on Campbell Live – you can view the video here, and you may spot Andrea and John in the background keeping an eye on things! http://www.3news.co.nz/tvshows/campbelllive/rescuers-re-open-christchurch-workplace-2014110420?ref=video
