The challenge was to bring together and market three quite different iconic Christchurch experiences under one umbrella - the Christchurch Tram, Punting on the Avon and the Christchurch Gondola. While retaining their own individuality, we developed an overarching brand - 'Welcome Aboard', under which all three attractions are marketed to consumers, travel trade, media and tour operators.
To this has been added the Grand Tour, a comprehensive sightseeing tour around Christchurch and incorporating the three attractions in an excellent value package. The new 'Welcome Aboard' brand positioned the company and its component parts as a primary choice for visitors to Christchurch. Once guests have experienced these attractions, they have experienced the true welcome to Christchurch!
