Whether it’s managing conferences or tradeshows across Europe and North America, leading team’s procuring million’s of pounds of annual sponsorship in London or running the largest event in the South Island – Geoff’s vision and drive to succeed and exceed client’s expectations is second to none. After merging their successful event management company with Beck & Caul, Geoff and his wife Carol are looking forward to bringing a whole new dimension of service to the customers of Beck & Caul. With a background in account management, business development and experience in advertising sales, Kaylie brings a fresh perspective to her role at Beck & Caul. Having travelled all over the world, Kaylie has gained experience in a variety of industries, her particular expertise lies in client management and solution selling to resolve client problems and to achieve the desired outcomes.
Nicola began her career as a radio announcer before moving into the world of marketing and communications. After a stint in the charitable sector in London, Nicola returned to New Zealand to continue working in the agricultural sector before bringing her skills to TDM Events/Beck & Caul. Nicola’s diverse background in media, communications, marketing, design and events; along with her enthusiasm and ability to think outside the square helps ensure the best results for her clients.
One of two resident Hungarians, Vendel is a professional software engineer and works magic with all things web-based, including websites, webshops, mobile websites and dynamic web features, as well as solving most PC problems. With his interests in travelling, hiking and fishing he has made New Zealand home for all the right reasons, with one exception, he prefers to play soccer!
Drawing from the age of two, Tarryn is a career creative. She has been a senior creative for over 10 years in Christchurch-based agencies (plus a stint in London), working with some very well-known brands. She brings a focused, considered and strategic approach to her work, having armed herself with a Degree and Postgradate Diploma in Design and Marketing. Tarryn also loves her sports – playing netball during winter, waterskiing and trying not to fall off the mountain bike too often over summer.
Sarah graduated with a Diploma in Graphic Design from Natcoll and was a foundation staffer with Beck & Caul. Much of what the company has achieved for clients has passed through her keyboard. Her vast portfolio demonstrates her creative flair and highlights her passion for innovative design and consumer experience. Sarah brings a medley of skills to every project, producing stylish design that is uniquely individual and modern.
Effective financial management of client projects is an integral component of our success. Our in-house Accountant William began his career in the Chartered Accountancy environment and most recently worked for Deloitte in Christchurch. William has worked on a range of small to medium enterprises and brings with him a depth of knowledge. With a focus on output, William is driven to exceed client objectives and expectations.
It’s all in the numbers with Rachel who looks after the books and harries those who are tardy with their payments. With a background in banking, owning her own business and medical reception work, she is highly skilled in dealing with figures. If you haven’t been paid or you haven’t paid us, Rachel’s your girl. She also loves getting up to a few antics with her gorgeous pre-schooler grand-daughter.
Mel works tirelessly as Show Secretary for the Canterbury A&P Association. She provides administration support to committees, coordinates volunteers and lives in a flurry of entries, emails and phone calls. She is also the go-to-girl for all livestock and equestrian inquries for the Canterbury A&P Show. It’s a juggling act, creating positive relationships with a lot of key stakeholders, but Mel handles it with ease and flair.
Bindy began her career in the Travel Industry, she later worked in Travel and Tourism Education before joining the world of event management. Bindy provides support on all our events and projects. As an events client you’ll get to know her well because excellent administration of client contracts is the backbone of our success. Bindy is integral to the running of the Canterbury A&P Show where she works on sponsorship, membership, show entries, ticketing, ribbons and trophies, delegations and much more.
With a background in marketing and customer service, Rachel brings her meticulous brief taking and organisational skills to the crew at Beck & Caul. When she’s not serving her clients’ needs, she co-chairs the PTA at her local school and is often found poolside with her sons, pottering in the garden, or mountain biking and skiing with them.
Having owned Beck & Caul until June 2017, John knows all things B&C. With marketing and senior management experience in the hospitality, tourism and automotive industries, John will continue to help offer pragmatic solutions to assist clients achieve their strategic and marketing objectives. Given half a chance, he will also provide incisive comments on the Crusaders’, Black Caps’ or Liverpool’s results over an espresso or craft beer.
With a background in Client Services and Management, Amy brings to Beck & Caul her strong organisational and administrative skills to manage the Canterbury A&P Association membership base as well as assisting with various other tasks that are required to keep the office running like a well-oiled machine. An excellent communicator, she is available to assist our clients with any of their requirements – big or small and highly enjoys supporting and assisting others to achieve their desired outcomes.
Jetting in from Chile is our web designer and graphic designer bringing a global view to our Christchurch landscape. In addition to her graphic and social media marketing skills, Paola enjoys boarding the slopes and mountain biking. More recently she has been cramming in some surf lessons
She must like us because Marina just keeps coming back! She’s worked on the Canterbury A&P Show as a casual staff member for many years and we’re excited to have her on board as a more permanent staff member in 2017. Marina’s excellent administrative skills, calm head and positive personality make her a crucial part of the puzzle – especially when it comes to the pressure of major event management.
Meet our newest recruit! Katherine is a graduate of University of Otago, but she’s a Cantabrian through and through. Katherine loves all things design-related and her background in marketing and administration along with excellent relationship-building skills makes her the perfect addition to our team. She’s looking forward to jumping into the world of events and we’re looking forward to putting her skills to good use.
Currently working part-time while on maternity leave with her beautiful daughter, Szilvia is our other resident Hungarian. Szilvia specializes in getting your website performing at it’s best in search engine rankings, helping drive more traffic to your site.
Managing a 42-hectare park that’s home to the Canterbury A&P Show and hundreds of events throughout the year is no mean feat but Dugald takes it all his stride. A farmer in a former life and a long-time employee of the Canterbury A&P Association, he’s the go to man for anything Canterbury Agricultural Park related and for all of those curly ag questions some of us townies like to throw at him!
Nigel can often be found hooning around the Canterbury Agricultural Park on his tractor, hurrying off to the next job. He helps Dugald with all of the general maintenance around the Park and set up and pack down for the Canterbury A&P Show. With sheep to tend to, plenty of grass to mow and dozens of buildings to maintain – he’s a busy man!
